Polish Inter-foundation Spaying and Neutering
Program
The project that has been created as a result of
an agreement between the four pro animal organizations:

Private Veterinary Practice of DVM Daniel Figel from Barlinek.
The aim of the program is to reduce the homeless
animal population in Poland
by the regular spaying and neutering of all dogs and cats that are not intended for breeding.
This program is ideal for village areas, where the access to veterinary
practices is limited.
All surgeries will be
performed in a mobile veterinary vehicle.
Mobile veterinary vehicle
The mobile veterinary vehicle is a fully
equipped trailer designed to carry out surgical procedures. The project has
been developed based on the original designs of mobile veterinary clinics,
produced and widely used in the U.S.
Our trailer will have two functional surgery facilities and full veterinary equipment (medical lamps,
autoclave, equipment for inhalation anesthesia etc.). With the mobile
veterinary vehicle we will be able to
perform spaying and neutering in all conditions, in all villages.
MOPSiK project will be performed for a national scale, performing 20-30
spaying/neutering surgeries every day. The scale of the program fully depends on
the amount of money we will be able to collect. Initially we will be happy if we can operate on 80-100
animals in a month.
The potential capacity of the project is in your hands.
First step of the project
The first step of the project is to collect 25 000 euro to purchase the mobile
veterinary vehicle. We, the three pro animals organizations, have already signed
the contract with the veterinary practice. After we collect 25 000 euro
the veterinary practice will buy the veterinary vehicle and the staff will perform
for surgeries to the equivalent of
25 000 euro. This equates to not just the investment for the vehicle, it is investment in surgeries (about
600 spaying bitches or 900 neutering dogs or 1100 spaying female cats or 1900
neutering male cats).
As we feel the project is so beneficial, the
veterinary team decided to start with the surgery immediately. As we
have not bought the mobile veterinary vehicle yet, they can only perform a
limited amount of surgeries : just in
places where the appropriate conditions
are met: clean, light rooms, hot water, electricity etc. They are both dependent
on the local community and environmental
conditions.
